Beginner to Advanced, Electric or Acoustic All ages, child to adult Ukulele also, which is super popular now We will work on: Technique, Reading Music Notation, Reading Guitar TAB, Reading Chord Charts, Strumming Chords, Building strong Rhythm and Timing skills, Developing a strong sense of Melody, Songs, Riffs, Music Theory, Scales, Modes, Improvisation, Soloing, Songwriting I have my personal teaching methods and materials but I tailor classes to each student's needs, progress and interests. I want each student to find what makes guitar fun for them and what will make them progress and keep playing. Most, if not all students, want to learn their favorite bands and songs. I help students get a few basic techniques, fundamentals, and concepts down and they will be playing their favorites in no time. When I feel a student is ready, I also stress a strength and interest in improvisation, soloing, creativity and originality. My goal is to have my students find their own "voice" on the guitar. I encourage my students to play with others and hopefully start their own bands. I have also paired my students up to jam with each other. Playing guitar is FUN! That's the reason we get into it. I am extremely patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. I have strong relationships with students and parents, and an extremely strong student retention record. I make learning the guitar fun so students want to continue lessons and progress. So many of my former students are still playing in bands and writing their own material and now, teaching guitar students, themselves also. Lessons are weekly 1/2 hour private lessons. I teach students at my home studio in Scotch Plains, students homes or virtual. |
